"Last summer our
senior high youth stayed at Camp Piedra Angular in Reynosa, Mexico while we held
a Bible School and built two houses for families in one of the colonias.
Our mission experience was incredible. The youth and adults on the trip
truly experienced the grace of God in the laughter and joy of the children; they
came to understand community in a new way as they played soccer with the Mexican
kids and as they worked side-by-side to build homes; and they received a new
sense of God's call for their lives to live as disciples every
moment. These transforming experiences were strengthened because of the
ministry of those connected with ¡Vamonos! George and Jan Waterman and their
daughter were gracious hosts. They were helpful and informative beyond
expectation. And the camp...I cannot say enough about what a wonderful
place to stay it is! They thought of everything in building the dorms.
They are well-equipped and clean. The camp also offers flexible eating, meeting
and gathering space which added to the sense of community within our group. The
experience was so good for our youth, I have scheduled our first-ever, hands-on,
Mexico mission project for adults!”
